Mugler Unveils Starlicious Les Eaux Gourmandes: A New Era of Layered Gourmand Fragrances

Every summer, I find myself anticipating which fragrance will define the season. It has become something of a personal ritual, each year marked by a different scent that captures its moments and memories. This time, all signs point to Mugler as the house set to accompany every adventure: from long walks and spontaneous gatherings to sun-soaked afternoons and evenings after the beach.

With the upcoming launch of Starlicious Les Eaux Gourmandes, Mugler introduces a collection designed to reflect exactly that kind of versatility and sensory storytelling. The launch introduces three distinct compositions, Pineapple Musk, Pistachio Praline, and Berry Licorice, each designed to be worn alone or layered to create personalized scent combinations.

At the core of the collection lies a concept of olfactory layering. Each fragrance plays a specific role within a blend, bringing brightness, warmth, or depth, allowing users to tailor their fragrance experience depending on mood and occasion. Inspired by “mocktail” accords, the compositions emphasize versatility and creative expression.

Pineapple Musk offers a refined floral-fruity gourmand profile. It opens with a vibrant pineapple accord, delivering a fresh and slightly tangy brightness, complemented by creamy coconut nuances. A soft musk base provides a clean and subtle trail. Notably, the formula incorporates a shimmer effect, requiring the bottle to be shaken prior to application.

Pistachio Praline presents a more enveloping and textured composition. Built around a warm gourmand structure, it blends roasted pistachio with smooth caramel facets, anchored by patchouli, which introduces depth and a discreet woody dimension.

Berry Licorice explores contrast through a dynamic interplay of notes. Juicy strawberry and raspberry accords create a luminous and sweet opening, while licorice introduces a darker, aromatic edge. A delicate freesia note enhances the composition with a soft floral lift.

The collection also encourages experimentation through layering, with Mugler suggesting curated combinations such as “Yummy Swirl,” “Creamy Delight,” “Gourmet Berry,” and “Sweet Kiss.” Intensity can be further adjusted through application techniques, including placement on the neck, wrists, hair, or clothing.

All three fragrances are presented in transparent, star-shaped bottles designed to capture and reflect light, reinforcing the collection’s celestial aesthetic. Each scent will be available in a 75 ml Eau de Toilette format, with launch details expected soon.
