Audio Obscura Festival: A Summer Celebration of Music, Art, and Heritage at Rotterdam’s Van Nelle Fabriek

The highly anticipated debut outdoor summer festival by Audio Obscura is set to take place on Saturday, August 24, 2024, at the iconic Van Nelle Fabriek in Rotterdam. This festival marks more than a decade of transcendent events, and this year, it will be hosted at a venue that perfectly blends industrial heritage with innovative design.

Van Nelle Fabriek, a UNESCO World Heritage site located on Van Nelleweg 1, 3044 BC Rotterdam, is renowned for its pioneering architecture and significance in Dutch industrial history. The venue’s unique aesthetic, featuring diagonal transport bridges, will serve as the backdrop for Audio Obscura’s main stage, making it the musical heart of the festival.

This summer’s event promises to be a landmark occasion, expanding upon the success of Audio Obscura’s indoor debut with Black Coffee in 2022. With multiple outdoor stages set against the stunning backdrop of Van Nelle Fabriek, the festival will merge historical significance with contemporary musical innovation, delivering an extraordinary experience in an extraordinary space.

Audio Obscura’s mission has always been to transcend the traditional boundaries of electronic music, bringing the art form into new spaces and contexts. This year’s festival at Van Nelle Fabriek continues this legacy, turning a venue traditionally off-limits to club promoters into a vibrant playground for music lovers. The festival will not only showcase leading artists but also support new talents from around the world, fostering a global dialogue between artists and audiences.

As part of the festival’s commitment to preserving cultural heritage, €3 of each ticket sold will contribute to the preservation of Van Nelle Fabriek as a UNESCO World Heritage site. This contribution ensures that future generations can continue to appreciate this historical treasure.

Prepare to be immersed in a festival experience where music, art, and architecture come together in one of Rotterdam’s most iconic settings.
