Camper Unveils New Campaign «Kobarah: True Love» in Celebration of SS 2024 Launch

To mark the debut of the Kobarah Spring-Summer 2024 collection, featuring the Flat model alongside the speckled special edition, Camper is rolling out an exclusive new campaign.

Entitled «Kobarah: True Love,» the fresh visuals and videos were captured in Paris by Spanish photographer Kito Muñoz. Every scene was meticulously curated by stylist Ally Macrae, an Australian native now based in Paris. The campaign exudes a candid documentary style, aiming to mirror the lives of Kobarah users worldwide.

The narrative of the campaign revolves around a diverse group of young street models, portraying the intimate ambiance of a joyful, free-spirited community during a night of revelry. Dancing to the electronic remix by Maud Geffray of Hen Yanni’s «Where Do We Go?» they showcase the vibrant new color combinations of Kobarah’s unisex sandals, the season’s iconic silhouette.

The Kobarah sandal, a colorful cloud crafted from recycled plastic that Camper has swiftly established as one of its emblematic designs, takes center stage in the brand’s latest campaign. The fresh iterations of this model, now available in additional colors and in flat styles, serve as the inspiration for «Kobarah: True Love,» a series of photographs and a short film where the shoe’s inclusive character transforms into an ode to label-free love. These images reflect on society’s freedom to love without constraints.

Shot in Paris, with stylist Ally Macrae’s collaboration and street models enjoying a night out, the campaign captures moments of liberation and self-expression. In various apartments across the French capital, the youth dance to the beat of Maud Geffray’s remix, encapsulating the spirit of the campaign.

Behind the lens? Cádiz-born photographer Kito Muñoz. Having settled in Paris for years, Muñoz emerged in the pages of Icon magazine at just 17 and has since become a portraitist of modernity. «I spent my days making stop-motion videos with toys. I’d doll up the dolls,» he reminisced in a recent interview. «When I was in high school, the idea of pursuing a degree scared me. It terrified me so much that I thought the only way out was to work really hard. I opened Instagram and set myself the challenge of doing a different project every week. I wanted to live off photography, but I didn’t even have a camera!» He has lensed campaigns for brands challenging traditional gender norms like Palomo Spain or Mans. Alongside Camper, he’s recently collaborated with the multi-brand retailer Ssense and publications like Dust or Revue. With these snapshots, the photographer reinterprets Kobarah’s universal appeal.

Originally conceptualized in 2016 by Camper’s then-creative director Romain Kremer, the sandal was reimagined in 2021 by Achilles Ion Gabriel. Crafted as a fully circular design, it’s made from a single piece mold of Ethylene-Vinyl Acetate (EVA), significantly reducing its energy consumption during production. Completely unisex and available in a wide range of sizes from 35 to 46, it accommodates any foot. This spring, it receives updates with heel-less versions and two special speckled options.
