Camper Unveils SS24 Collection: Achilles Ion Gabriel’s Vision Transforms Camperlab Into a Full-Fledged Fashion Experience

Captured by the renowned Dutch photographer Paul Kooiker, the images delve into a dystopian and surreal landscape set in an empty, dusty room. Faded colors accompany a crumbling decor, while time and space seem to be suspended. Empty yet full at the same time, it represents a present we cannot quite see but somehow perceive.

The standout footwear of the season – Tormenta, Vamonos, Venga, and Pelotas Flota – takes center stage alongside the new pieces from the prêt-à-porter collection, featuring denim designs with various treatments and prints.

Yves Tumor and Brighton Maggie Maurer join the production, posing in front of Kooiker’s lens to add the final touch to the proposal presented by Achilles for CAMPERLAB.

From the popular Spanish footwear brand Camper, a decision has been made to step out and celebrate the beginning of the new Spring/Summer 2024 season with the launch of the latest shoe collection and the debut clothing collection from their experimental line, Camperlab. A comprehensive offering of prêt-à-porter pieces, unveiled through the lens of Achilles Ion Gabriel, Camper’s Global Creative Director since August 2020, marking his first campaign for the brand.

After joining the prestigious Spanish footwear house in 2019, replacing the Frenchman Romain Kremer as the creative director of Camperlab, Gabriel rose to the position of Global Creative Director of Camper by August 2020. Since then, he has been in control of product design across all lines and departments of the brand. Beyond footwear, the ambitions to grow and develop his creative universe became a tangible goal when Gabriel announced the creation of his own fashion house in December 2023. This new venture debuted with the presentation of his inaugural clothing collection under his eponymous fashion brand during the January 2024 edition of Pitti Uomo. Camper has decided to fully support their creative director, allowing him to develop his profile and potential as both a footwear and apparel designer from within the company.

This commitment is already materializing with the launch of the first clothing collection designed by Achilles Ion Gabriel for Camperlab at the beginning of the new Spring/Summer SS24 season. This collection not only maintains the avant-garde nature of his designs but also pushes Camperlab to offer a complete range of prêt-à-porter garments, opening the door for fans of the Spanish brand and its unique creative language to dress in Camper, from head to toe, embracing Achilles Ion Gabriel’s vision.
