Coperni Unveils Futuristic Collaboration with PUMA: The 90SQR
In a groundbreaking fusion of technology, innovation, and futuristic design, fashion label Coperni, known for its trailblazing approach, has joined forces with PUMA for their inaugural footwear collaboration. The result? The highly anticipated 90SQR, a sneaker inspired by PUMA’s FUTURE football boot.
Crafted under the creative direction of Sébastien Meyer and Arnaud Vaillant, the 90SQR boasts a design influenced by high technology, geometric aesthetics, and brutalist architecture. Constructed with high-performance materials, the shoe seamlessly blends a classic shoe silhouette with athletic elements, representing a cross-pollination of sports and fashion.
PUMA’s Global Creative Director, Heiko Desens, emphasizes the shoe’s departure from traditional athletic designs, pointing out the distinctive square toe as a nod to high fashion. The 90SQR will be available in three color combinations: white, asphalt, and bold yellow, each featuring taped seams on a mesh base.
Coperni co-founders Sébastien Meyer and Arnaud Vaillant express pride in the collaboration, stating, «The 90SQR embodies all our shared values: innovation, minimalism, uniqueness. It’s everything we’ve dreamt of, and we look forward to releasing more PUMA x Coperni pieces in the near future.»
Captured by artist Paul Kooiker, the campaign images delve into the exploration of technology and fashion boundaries, portraying the elegance of high-performance footwear. The geometric and structural beauty of the 90SQR is juxtaposed with the natural contours of the human body, creating a visual narrative of innovation and sophistication.
The PUMA x Coperni 90SQR is set to hit stores on January 19, 2024, available at Coperni stores, coperniparis.com, and select retailers starting January 22. A blend of ingenuity and emotion, these sneakers redefine the standard, turning a football boot into a ballet-inspired, technologically advanced masterpiece.
