Monegros Desert Festival 2024: An Unforgettable 22-Hour Rave in the Heart of the Desert
At the end of July, the Monegros Desert Festival will come to life again, transporting over 50,000 attendees to a unique audiovisual universe with the promise of leaving an indelible mark.
With its impressive display of production, sound, and innovative architectures, Monegros once again commits to offering the most radical, extreme, and immersive experience that a desert festival can guarantee. A powerful sonic offering of 22 uninterrupted hours of music, featuring performances by over 150 artists and a wide variety of musical genres. Highlights include hip-hop, techno in all its variants, as well as dub, reggae, trance, drum n bass, and the much-anticipated psytrance, which will feature an exclusive new stage.
Juan Arnau, Founder and CEO of MDF, stated: «The commitment we make to each new edition of Monegros demonstrates our dedication to our audience. It is a pleasure to welcome them and give our best during the more than 22 frenetic hours of the festival. Pouring all our creativity into the event is always both a challenge and a joy.» Cruz Arnau adds: «We always try to broaden the range of musical genres, and this year we are especially excited about the new stage dedicated exclusively to psytrance. Both our parents and my brother and I have spent our lives traveling to discover new genres, artists, and festivals with essence. When we discovered psytrance, we fell in love with its essence. It is undoubtedly a well-received addition, and the new space could not be more fitting.»
Just a couple of weeks ago, MDF surprised everyone with an impactful lineup preview, revealing over 80 names comprising 70% of its lineup. Now, the much-anticipated moment has arrived to unveil the remaining 30% of this amazing journey through various sounds of rave culture.
Among the artists joining to complete the fiery festival lineup is the British duo Chase & Status, recently awarded the prestigious “Producer Of The Year” at the BRIT Awards. A cornerstone of the UK electronic music scene, they will land on the Monegros stage to delight the audience with a live set featuring breakbeat, dubstep, and drum and bass mixes. «Once again, we are very happy to represent so many sounds in the desert. With techno as our flagship, we continue to incorporate hip-hop, drum n bass, dub, house, disco, and many more; with the great novelty of psytrance, one of the most popular sounds in the world,» comments Music Director Víctor de la Serna.
Monegros wouldn’t be Monegros without the contribution of national hip-hop talent; thus, the Madrid duo Natos y Waor returns with their frenetic live show at the fans’ request.
Another highlight is the debut performance of Astrix. The world’s leading psytrance DJ is ready to set the Aragonese desert ablaze with his beats.
With a softer and more underground tone, we have the charismatic house producer DJ Tennis. A veteran making his debut in Fraga in 2024, ready to deliver sonic bombs befitting his legend.
The versatility of British DJ Daniel Pearce, aka Eats Everything; the unmistakable vibe of Chelina Manuhutu; the skill on the decks of German DJ tINI; the vibrancy of James Hype; the fresh techno of Traumer; the prowess of musician José Rodriguez; and the multifaceted talents of Fox Stevenson and Hugel.
2024 will see the edition with the highest number of stages and therefore the highest number of artists, making the b2b format prominently featured.
On its 31st anniversary, there will be an increase in the number of stages, resulting in more artists present. Due to this expansion, the B2B format takes on a prominent role in this edition. Projects like Assailants (Ben Sims b2b Truncate), Chris Liberator b2b D.A.V.E The Drummer, Neoh b2b Moderate Hate, Honson b2b Reio, Mbreaks b2b Bowser, SFDJ b2b Salome, Litence b2b Lokura
