Pharrell Williams and Tyler, The Creator Unveil Groundbreaking Capsule Collection for Louis Vuitton

Following the unexpected passing of Virgil Abloh in 2021, Pharrell Williams assumed the helm of Louis Vuitton’s menswear division. After debuting last summer and presenting the Pre-Fall 2024 collection in Hong Kong, the artist unveiled his third FW24 collection for the Maison in Paris. Now, Pharrell has joined forces with his friend and fellow artist Tyler, The Creator for an exclusive capsule collection. This marks Pharrell’s first independent collaboration as the creative director of Louis Vuitton’s menswear.

In this groundbreaking collaboration, the duo breathes new life into Louis Vuitton’s iconic illustrative monogram. The teaser image released to announce the capsule collection features GOLF le FLEUR’s founder about to board a flight to the heart of the Maison. Tyler is adorned in the brand’s iconic travel bag, a navy blue aviator-style outerwear piece with the updated LV logo in orange, accompanied by a house motif helmet and pilot sunglasses. In the background, a bellboy tends to luggage, including the luxurious €45,000 Courrier Lozine trunk. Tyler, known musically as Tyler, The Creator, infused his distinctive style into this collaborative collection.

USA Today noted that their aim was to design garments striking a balance between imagination and versatility, suitable for both a gala event and a quick trip to the gas station.

The collection, unveiled on Wednesday, showcased standout pastel jackets and sweaters, reflecting Tyler’s signature style. One of the most eye-catching elements is a chessboard with undulating pieces, deemed Tyler’s personal favorite.

Moreover, Tyler hand-reinterpreted Louis Vuitton’s iconic monogram, giving rise to the «Ridge Monogram.» This intricate detail adds a personal touch to the collection, seamlessly merging haute couture with authentic artistic expression. Fashion enthusiasts and fans of both artists eagerly anticipate the official collection launch on March 21, undoubtedly marking a trendsetting event in the world of high fashion.
