Primavera Sound Porto 2025: A Glimpse into the broad international music scene, from established band to rising pop artists

Primavera Sound Porto has revealed its multifaceted and transversal artistic line-up for the upcoming edition, where exciting presentations of prominent pop icons are being mixed with Portuguese projects celebrating the culture of the country, allowing the visitor to get a glimpse into the national music scene. A celebration of broad and rich identity at the Parque da Cidade that we are going to witness through the days 12th, 13th, 14th and 15th of June.

Opening the festival with fresh and emotive energy we have an arrangement of artists that are going to establish the level that this edition contains. From the international alternative offerings like Caribou, ANOHNI and the Johnsons and This Is Lorelei performances to upcoming artists like The Dare with his bold and hedonistic ode to dance music in “What’s Wrong With New York?”, Magdalena Bay with her intensely digital album “Imaginal Disk” and Angélica Garcia with her Mexican and Salvadoran roots in the latest «Gemelo». However, the most exciting moment of the day is going to be the Charli xcx performance where we expect to have fun and discover the full experience of her latest album “BRAT”; after debuting the SWEAT experience in the Peninsula, along Troye Sivan, the weekend before at Primavera Sound Barcelona. We are ready to jump with «360», «Guess» and «Von dutch»; getting ready to live the BRAT summer experience in Portugal.

On the 13th, we are going to enjoy Michael Kiwanuka’s workn, defined by soul, folk, rock and psychedelic traditions; who is going to present his latest album “Small Changes”. We would like to hear “Cold Little Heart”, “Home Again” and “One More Night”, singles that have defined his career in music over the years. On the other side, we are going to have the possibility to experience Aminé’s newest album “13 Months of Sunshine”, Denzel Curry’s album “KING OF THE MISCHIEVOUS SOUTH” and Waxahatchee’s «Tigers Blood» in real life; while Deftones and TV On The Radio delight us with their timeless and deep music. Central Cee will close the main stage with his awaited presentation of «CAN’T RUSH GREATNESS», the latest album of one of the prominent rap figures in England; his work act as a bridge between UK drill and melodic rap, where emotional introspection and gritty realism stand out as main themes across his catalog.

Last day is going to be an energizing pop experience. HAIM are presenting their «I quit» tour that we expect to be one of the most enticing experiences in the festival, bringing California to the Portuguese audience with a blend of indie rock, pop, R&B, and classic rock. On the other hand, we could find vibrant performances by Jamie xx and Wet Leg. Carolina Durante would present “Elige Tu Propia Aventura” representing the indie rock scene of Spain and bringing the Spanish energy to Portugal. Afterwards, Parcels are presenting their latest project “LOVED”, a fusion of 1970s funk, disco, and modern indie pop; while Horsegirl are presenting their new album «Phonetics On and On», an exploration of dynamic sound and youthful energy.

A closing electronic party will bring the final touch on Sunday, June 15th. Mura Masa’s DJ set would bring a genre-blending approach, innovative production techniques, and a keen sense of cultural awareness; while presenting songs from his latest project «Curve 1». However, Catarina Silva and HAAi will present their dynamic performances centered around eclectic sounds and innovative soundscapes. To finish on a good note, Paul Kalkbrenner will present his latest EP «KABELMANN», along emotive techno compositions and a captivating live show.

We cannot wait to enjoy a festival full of events and certainties that knows where it’s going and where it comes from, an oasis of international tunes and impactful presentations. Porto, see you soon!
